![]() It is the silver anniversary of Bankstown and Suita, Japan becoming sister cities. to Celebrate this, Bankstown council have created some Japanese standee characters for people to have their photograph taken in. The cutouts will be available at GHPS for stage one students to have their photos taken throughout the week. This is very exciting as the children have been learning about Japan this term. Sean Choolburra's performance is on this Friday (20th June). There are still quite a few children who have not brought their notes back in to school. Your child will have recieved a new note this afternoon. Please try and send it in as soon as posible. Thank you.
Reports will go home Thursday 19thy June. Please send green progress folders in to school so the children can bring their reports home in them.
![]() Parent teacher interviews will take place in 2E on Wednesday 25th June. On Thursday you would have received a note to request an interview time. Please return this to school if you wish to have an interview to discuss your child’s progress. I you have misplaced your note new ones are avaliable from the front office.
![]() The book fair and book character parade will be held in week 3 of term 3, Tuesday 29th July. Children (and teachers) are encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. Bring your book into school if you can so we can read it in the classroom.
The parade will take place in the infants courtyard at 9:30 am. At 10:30 am parents are invited to visit the library to purchase books from the book fair. The children will preview the books in library lessons and bring home a “wish list” of books they might like to purchase. If you are unable to attend on the day of the book fair the children will be given an opportunity to visit the library with me to purchase books if they wish to. I will post pictures of the parade in thr photos senction of the website. collection of books available on Friday 25th July between 8:30 am and 9:00 am. Please be aware that this is a preview time only, and no products will be sold until the fair on Tuesday. A note with more details will be sent home next term. I look forward to seeing lots of you on the day for this fun event! ![]() As part of our science unit “Kids Care” this term year two have been learning about taking care of the environment. Compost bins were introduced in our playgrounds last term so the children can dispose of their food scraps responsibly. On Tuesday 3rd June, 2E will be going to the hall for an incursion to learn more about recycling and different ways they can care for
the environment. There is no cost involved with this activity. ![]() Yesterday you should have received a bright pink note about a performance taking place at our school on Friday 20th June by Sean Choolburra. The cost of the show is $5.00 per student and will be held in our hall.
Please return this note and money in a sealed envelope or zip lock bag clearly labelled with your child's name, what the money is for and the amount included. This helps teachers to return lost money to the student it belongs to. Thank you. We will be speaking about safety issues in class this week. Please take the time to have a look at this document and discuss it with your children.
Lunch orders and hot food will not be avaliable from the canteen on Friday 23rd and Monday 26th May. Snack foods and cold drinks will still be avaliable.
